PS5 HD Camera India Release Date Listed, Pre-Orders Live [UPDATE]

Update at 2:43pm IST on January 21, 2021: added Sony’s comment confirming the PS5 HD Camera India release date.

The PS5 HD Camera will release alongside the PS5 on February 2, 2021. According to a listing spotted on specialist retailer Games The Shop, Sony will bring the peripheral to the country on time. The PS5 Camera India price is Rs. 5,190 with pre-orders live right now.

Considering Games The Shop is an official PS5 launch partner for Sony, this listing is as legitimate as it gets. Nonetheless, we have reached out to Sony India for comment and the company provided the following statement.

“We are happy to share that PS5 HD Camera will be available at launch,” a spokesperson for Sony tells over email.

Previously, Sony had confirmed that India would not be getting any accessories aside from the DualSense controller and Media Remote in time for the console’s release. Even the PS5 Digital Edition is not making it to the country in time for the PS5 launch.

“PS5 Digital Edition and select peripherals (Dual Sense charging station, HD camera and PS headset) will not be available in the launch window,” Sony told IGN India over email at the time. “Please monitor our official channels for updates on release dates.”

While we won’t be surprised to see the other accessories be listed for sale in India (perhaps in time for the February 2 PS5 launch), we won’t be holding our breath for the PS5 Digital Edition due to supply shortages the world over.
