Akshay Kumar ‘Part of the Development’ of FAU-G: Ncore Games

When FAU-G for Android and iOS was announced developer Ncore Games stated it was developed with guidance from Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. While celebrities taking an interest in video games is nothing new, most of the time their involvement just revolves around the use of their name and little else. Would Kumar’s be the same? Not according to Ncore Games. The studio spoke to IGN India in the run up to FAU-G’s January 26, 2021 release date.

“He has been frequently reviewing the builds and sharing feedback so definitely yes, he was a part of the development,” says Ganesh Hande, Co-Founder and COO at Ncore Games

This isn’t all. Ncore Founder and Chairman Vishal Gondal tells us that the FAU-G anthem was also made by Kumar and his team.

“He said ‘I am going to make the anthem and give it to you’,” recalls Gondal before revealing more details on how Kumar’s feedback went beyond just checking if the game works.

“He has seen every build and gives feedback,” he says. “He gave us feedback on how characters look and gave a lot of feedback on the weapons and how they are supposed to look as a lot of them were cobbled together by the Chinese — in line with the game’s Galwan Valley setting. They are not proper weapons and he gave us input on how they should look and work.”

Furthermore, he had what the Gondal says, was an interesting ask of the team.

“He wanted to have a dog in the game,” says Gondal.

And while Ncore tells us the first release of FAU-G won’t feature any four-legged friends, we won’t be surprised to see them make an appearance in the future.

Previously, IGN India revealed that FAU-G’s pre-registrations crossed four million, making it the game with the highest pre-registrations in India. Gondal believes that FAU-G’s pre-registrations could increase further.

“I will say that we will cross five million at least. Could be higher,” he says. “But at five million I don't think so any other game, at least in India has got that kind of pre-registrations.”

In addition to this, Ncore Games hinted that support for those aforementioned low-end devices is on the way as well.

FAU-G is coming to iPhones, iPads and Android devices on January 26, 2021, celebrating India’s Republic Day. The Android version can be pre-registered on Google Play. The iOS version hasn’t made its way to the App Store yet, but will be available with the game’s release.
